A pair of Astatheros robertsoni defending fry in Cenote Escondido, located just south of Tulum, Yucatan Peninsula, Mexico. This was in very shallow water, the Cenote was flooded due to all the rain, the main body was very murky, only 1-2m visibility. This is quite a rare sight, I have visited the Cenote 3 times in the last 3 years and I have only seen robertsoni with fry once!

One of our 2 pairs of Petenia splendida 'Red' spawned in our display tank at Oddball Express. The tank is 96" Long, 36" Tall and 32" wide. This was the pairs first spawn, which turned unsuccessful, was a nice sight seeing them defend eggs though!

This video shows my new breeding pair of Jaguar cichlids, they have a lot of fry, easily over 300, probably closer to 500, but this was their first spawn, and I would say at least 75% of the eggs were infertile, so next spawn should be 4 times this amount if the male gets it right! They are very aggressive toward me, especially the female who will jump out of the water to try and bite me!
